Fotografije beleže momente i čuvaju ih za budućnost. Koliko god fotograf utiče na prikaz momenata, posmatrač fotografije oblikuje značenje fotografije. Kao takve, fotografije ne samo da predstavljaju prošlost – već kroz fotografije, prošlost postaje asocijativni konglomerat između fotografa i posmatrača. Na kojim asocijacijama fotograf gradi svoje slike, i koje asocijacije fotografije pobuđuju kod posmatrača? Pored toga, značenje fotografije nije povezano samo za posmatrača, već i za kontekst fotografije koja je prikazana: kao deo foto-albuma, deo izložbe ili se nalazi na javnom prostoru, semaforu ili u parku.
RE/VIEW ima za cilj da pokaže kako značenje prošlih momenata može da se menja. Fokusira se na odnos između fotografa i posmatrača, onog koji stvara ili manifestuje prošlost i onog koji tumači ovu tvorevinu u različitim kontekstima.
RE/VIEW kombinuje metode radionice, fotografije, ulične umetnosti, izložbe i diskusije kako bi pokrenula i vizualizovala debate o društvenim strukturama prošlosti.
RE/VIEW će okupiti 7 mladih fotografa. Prvi korak je upoznavanje sa socijalnim konstruktivizom i postmodernom filozofijom kao i sa srodnim inicijativama na polju suočavanja sa prošlošću. Drugi korak je prikupljanje i diskusija o asocijacijama koje učesnici povezju sa „prošlošću“ i da vizuelno prikažu ove asocijacije. Treći korak je fotografisanje. Četvrti korak je prikazivanje najboljih fotografija na javnim prostorima i prikupljanje povratnih informacija od prolaznika.
RE/VIEW će predstaviti rezulate na interaktivnoj izložbi koja će spojiti različite dimenzije fotografa, definicije, slike, redefinicije, posmatrača i onog koji posmatra posmatrača zajedno. Na završnoj izložbi će takođe biti prikazan kratki dokumentarni film o procesu.

Photos capture moments and preserve them for the future. As much as the photographer influences the representation of this moment, the viewer of the photo shapes its meaning. As such, photos do not merely represent the past – but through photos, the past becomes an associative conglomerate between the photographer and the viewer. Around which associations photographers built up their pictures, and which associations does the photo awake in the viewer? Additionally, the meaning of the photo is not only linked to the viewer, but also to the context the photo is shown in: whether it is part of a photo album, part of an exhibition or located in public spaces at a traffic light or in a park.
RE/VIEW centers on the shifting of meaning of past moments. It focuses on the relation between photographer and viewer, the one who creates or manifests the past moment and the one interpreting this creation in different contexts.
RE/VIEW combines the methods of workshops, photography, street art, exhibitions and discussion rounds to initiate and visualize debates about the social construction of the past.
RE/VIEW brings together 7 young photographers. The first step is an introduction into social constructivism and postmodern philosophy as well as related initiatives in the field of Dealing with the Past. The second step is to collect and discuss associations which the participants link to the term “past” and to translate these associations visually. The third step is to go out and take photos. The fourth step is to paste the best of these photos in public spaces and collect the feedback of passersby.
RE/VIEW will present the result in an interactive exhibition bringing the different dimensions of photographer, definition, picture, redefinition, the viewer and the viewer of the viewer together. The final exhibition will also show a short movie that documents the process.
